Runner-up finish for Johan and Edesa S Banjan in Stockholm

Johan and the 17yo gelding Edesa S Banjan produced two great rounds at the CSI4* show in Stockholm this weekend, to finish as runner-up in the 1m40 on Saturday and 4th in the 1m40 on Sunday. 
This was the first time the two competed together. 
- I am really happy with the weekend! The Sweden International Horseshow is truly amazing and well organized, Johan says.

Johan wins Six Bar in Madrid

Last weekend Johan visited the 5* show in Madrid, as the only Norwegian rider. Together with the 13yo gelding Arakorn, Johan impressed by winning ( shared win with Denis Lynch ) the Six Bar, jumping 1m95. On Saturday, Johan and Calido finished as runner-up in the 1m35 Jump & Drive.

Johan with runner-up position in National Grand Prix

The elite of Norwegian showjumping riders was gathered for the National Grand Prix Show in Melsom, Norway last weekend. Johan finished third in the Grand Prix, and second in the Grand Prix Finale riding Via VD Karmenhoek (only beaten by his older sister Victoria Gulliksen).
The previous Olympic rider Stein Endresen finished third.

Johan with top placings in the five-star show in Rome

After last year's success at the Global Champions Tour in Rome, Johan was motivated to deliver his best at the prestigious five-star show in Italy’s capital city last weekend. And so he did.

5 podium finishes in Drammen

During the two first weeks at the CSI2* Drammen Spring Tour Johan, together with the Norwegian showjumping team, secured team gold in the Nordic Championship. As an individual Johan and the 12-year-old gelding Calido 76 have won two classes (1m35 & 1m40), and in addition to the two wins, Johan finished as runner-up ( 1m35) riding Quidam Cherie, and secured a 3rd place finish (1m40) riding Quiet Easy.



Top results for Johan in Wellington

Johan and David Guetta can look back on a successful finish in Wellington with a double clear and a 4th place in the CSI2* Grand Prix at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. On Thursday the duo finished 8th in the 1m45.
Next week Johan will be heading to Oliva Nova in Spain.

Johan and Via Vd Karmenhoek Z finished in second place in yesterday's Puissance class presented by FERD at the CSI2* Arctic Equestrian Games in Vestfold, Norway. Simon Yde ( DEN) finished on top.

Johan wins the Mini Prix in Arendal, Norway.

Last time Johan visited Arendal Rideklubb, he took the 2017 Indoor Senior Championship title. This weekend, when returning to Arendal, he repeated his success with a win in the 1m35 Mini Prix at the Christmas Show, riding Calido.

"I'm very pleased with this victory," Johan says, although the Indoor Championship victory from November is clearly the highlight of the season.

Another victory to Johan & Quiet Easy in the Netherlands

Johan Sebastian Gulliksen and Quiet Easy followed up last weekend's success with another victory in Saturday's CSI2 * 1.40m at Peelbergen, in the Netherlands where 19 out of 57 riders made it to the jumpoff.

Yesterday Johan finished off the week with a brilliant double clear in the CSI2* 1m45 Grand Prix riding Quidam's Cherie, to finish 7th. 

Johan will be competing in Peelbergen for one more week.

Johan shows top class in the Norwegian Indoor Championship and speeds to victory

Only five riders came out clear after the first round of the Norwegian Senior Indoor Championship last weekend in Arendal, but it was Johan Gulliksen & Quiet Easy who came out as the only combination to finish with 0 faults during the whole Championship. Pål Flam finished second, Victoria Gulliksen third. By this, Johan has secured his first championship medal as a senior rider.

Johan placed 7th in the International Speed Champion Final in Helsinki.

18 riders made it to the CSI5* 1.40 Speed Champion final on Sunday at the Helsinki International Horse Show in Finland, where Johan and the 13-year-old gelding, Quiet Easy 4, finished in 7th place. The French rider Olivier Robert won the class, Juulia Jyläs (FIN) finished second best, and Harm Lahde (GER) third.

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome has been uncredible successful for Johan Gulliksen. During the four days event Johan and his 11-year-old gelding Via Vd Karmenhoek Z (Via Veneto (Dam: Oskarin, Sire of dam: Landadel) made it a double of wins.

Johan finishes in 16th place in the European Championship for Young Riders

Johan Gulliksen & Via vd Karmenhoek Z had a fantastic start of the European Championship for Young Riders, finishing in 1st place after the first round. After the two final rounds, the pair ended up with a very honorable 16th place in the Championship that counted a total of 83 riders.

The individual gold went to Swiss Bryan Balsiger / Clouzot de Lassus, while German Justine Tebbel / Light Star secured silver. British Amy Inglis / Whishes scored with individual bronze.

Johan finishes in fourth place in the Norwegian Championship

Johan and the eleven-year old gelding "Emil" held on to the runner-up position all the way until the final round of the Norwegian Championship this weekend in Drammen. With a total of 17 faults, in which two out of four rounds was clear, Johan finished in fourth place. A strong performance.

Johan wins the Somersby Trophy Puissance in Falsterbo.

"I didn't really plan to do the Puissance this year, but as there was only a few signed up, I thought I might have a chance to win - and I did."

Belgium rider Karel Cox finished third. Johan was riding the 11-year-old Via v. Karmenhoek Z (Via Veneto / Landadel), owned by Stall Gullik.

Johan up to 218th place in the FEI Longines rankings

Johan moved up 23 places last month at the FEI LONGINES rankings from 241th to 218th, while Kent Farrington has reclaimed the top spot, according to the latest FEI rankings released today. This put Johan in a position to be the highest-placed Norwegian rider in the rankings. Johan is currently preparing for his next show in Falsterbo, Sweden. 

Johan wins Team Gold at 2017 Nordic Baltic Championships

The 2016 Nordic Baltic Championships in Hammarö saw the U25 riders team competition conclude in a Norwegian team gold celebration on Friday. The team competition at the Nordic-Baltic consists of two rounds, where Johan & David Guetta finished on a total of 6 faults, while the Norwegian team finished on a total of 15. Silver went to Denmark, while Sweden secured the bronze. In the Individual Championship Johan finished fifth.

Last weekend, Johan won the 1.45m CSI2* Gold Big Tour at Drammen Spring Tour in Norway riding the 11-year-old gelding Via Vd Karmenhoek Z (Via Veneto x Landadel / Divanoba). Yesterday he won again - this time riding Quiet Easy, in which has only been with Johan since the two last weeks, owned by the Norwegian Gjelsten Family.


Johan with CSIO3* FEI Nations Cup senior debut

Johan had his Nation Cup debut s a senior rider yesterday representing Norway in the CSIO3* FEI Nations Cup division 2 in Drammen, Norway. Johan, who was riding Quidam’s Cherie ( Quidam’s Rubin/Lifestyle), ended with a total of 12 faults, while his team finished as number 10.

Johan represents Norway in the CSI03* Nations Cup in Drammen

Johan will represent Norway in today's second leg of the CSI03* FEI Nations Cup Europe Division 2 in Drammen, Norway. Besides from Johan, the Norwegian team consists of Geir Gulliksen, Pål Flam, Marie Longem and Benedikte Endresen. Johan will ride the 10-year-old mare Quidam's Cherie.

Johan wins the CSI2* 1.45m in Drammen

At Friday, Johan won the 1.45m CSI2* Gold Big Tour at Drammen Spring Tour in Norway riding the 11-year-old gelding Via Vd Karmenhoek Z (Via Veneto x Landadel / Divanoba), owned by Geir Gulliksen. The class had 55 participants, beyond them many International riders.

"It was a good win! It is usual Victoria who's riding him, but I will compete with him until the Hamburg Derby," Johan says.

Johan will continue to compete his horses during the last week in Drammen. 




Quiet Easy 4 to Johan Gulliksen

Johan will be the new rider of the 13-year old Oldenburger gelding Quiet Easy 4 by Quidam’s Rubin (Quidam de Revel), previously ridden by Bertram Allen and owned by Quainton Stud.



Runner-up finish for Johan at Drammen Springtour

Johan and Quidam's Cherie finished as runners-up in yesterday's 1m50 world- ranking class at the CSI3* Drammen Spring Tour in Drammen, Norway. The ten- year-old mare seems to be in a good shape at the moment. 

- Cherie jumped very well! She felt fresh and moved really well, in which is promising upfront Sunday's Grand Prix, Johan said. 

Jur Vrieling ( NED) won the class. Johan will be competing in Drammen during the next three weeks.

Three weeks at Drammen Spring Tour

After three intensive competition weeks in sunny Oliva Nova, Johan is now looking forward to another three-weeks period at the three-star show, Drammen Spring Tour, close to his home yard in Norway. Even tough the weather is not the same as in Spain, competing at home in front of a home audience is always a bit special. More results to come.

Johan up to 243th place in the FEI Longines rankings

Johan moved up 16 places last month at the FEI LONGINES rankings from 259th to 243th, while World Cup champion McLain Ward has reclaimed the top spot, according to the latest FEI rankings released today. This put Johan in a position to be the highest placed Norwegian rider in the rankings. 

Johan is currently at home preparing for his next show to be held in Drammen, Norway. 


Three weeks in Oliva Nova come to an end

Three intensive competition weeks in sunny Oliva Nova have come to an end and Johan and his horses have returned home to undertake preparations before the Drammen Spring Tour show, at his home base in Drammen, Norway.

Johan started his first week at Oliva Nova, Spain, with some good clear rounds.

Thursday he was in 6th placed with Kredo Grande in the 1.35 m class, and also 6th with Quidam's Cherie in the 1.45 m class. Friday he was placed 7th with Quidam's Cherie in the 1.45, and yesterday he had one down in the 1.45 Grand Prix.

All in all a good start during the first out of three weeks in Oliva Nova.

Johan climbs 32 places at the Longines FEI Rankings

Johan Gulliksen has made a significant move at the latest Longines FEI World Rankings, published this week. Johan’s performance in his excellent World Cup debut in the Longines FEI World Cup in Leipzig, delivering a fully-focused and beautiful ridden round, were a major contributor to his rise of 32 places from 291th to 259nd.

Saturday Johan, who the same day ended third in the Grand Prix at Arctic Equestrian Games with his new mare Quidam’s Cherie, and second in the Grand Prix last week, was honoured by the prestigious Norwegian Equestrian Awards, AEG AWARDS, as the senior leading show jumper of the year -  a confirmation on his great effort and his results as a rider in 2016.

This weekend Johan participated in Gina Tricot Grand Prix Masters in Borås, Sweden, where the two Gulliksen siblings, Victoria and Johan, won the new and exciting team competition at Saturday: The Gina Tricot Masters Team Challenge, where eight teams competed to be the fastest and flawless riders around the 1.35 m course.

WORLD CUP DEBUT IN 2017

2016 has been a successful year for Johan Gulliksen. At the end of the year, he climbed 30 places at the FEI Longines World Ranking and counted 20 international wins so far in his career.

Next year will be even more exciting for the young Gulliksen, as he starts the year by participating in his first World Cup in Leipzig, Germany, with his nine-year-old, Charleville.

JOHAN TO THE LONDON OLYMPIA HORSE SHOW

After spending a weekend teaching at the west coast of Norway,  Johan will be back this weekend competing again in the great London Olympia Horse Show. Olympia is the only UK Show to host all three FEI World CupTM Qualifiers in Dressage, Show Jumping and Driving. Each performance includes an equestrian competition along with a variety of displays from around the World. Johan will ride Violetta.

JOHAN CLIMBS THE LONGINES FEI WORLD RANKING LIST WITH 30 PLACES

November has been a successful month for Johan. In Stockholm, Johan ended second best in all the participating three classes. Earlier in November he was placed at the top of the lists throughout the four days long 4* show in Munich Indoors, Germany. Not to mention winning the Championat von Munich with 60 participants. As a result of this Johan has climbed the FEI World Ranking list with almost 30 places, beeing ranked number 307 by the beginning of December.

At the end of the day it will pay off, says Johan after another successful show-weekend in Stockholm, Sweden, where the young talent was given the Leading Rider title after ending second best, participating in the following three classes: Friday's CSI4* Two Phases 1.40m , Saturday's CSI4*Two Phases 1.40m and Sunday's FRIENDS Christmas Speed Stakes 1.40.

It has been an unbelievable weekend for Johan Gulliksen and his nine-year-old friend Charleville, as they have placed themselves at the top of the lists throughout the four days long 4* show, Munich Indoors, in Germany.

JOHAN WINS THE CHAMPIONAT VON MUNICH

Yesterday Johan and Charleville ended second best in the 1.45m Preis von J.J.Darboven class at the Indoor Munchen Horse Show. Today the pair was really successful again - winning the Championat von Munich with 60 participants, and beyond them many International top class riders such as Ludger Beerbaum and Marcus Ehning. So far a really great weekend for Johan and Charleville.

Yesterday Johan and Charleville had another good day in the International show circuit, beeing placed second best in the 1.45m Preis von J.J.Darboven class at Indoor Munchen Horse Show. Johan and Charleville finished only 0,20 seconds after Ben Talbot, who won the class. A total of 65 riders participated in the class.

This weekend Johan and Charleville participated at the Global Future Champions Week at Jan Tops International Arena in The Netherlands.  At Friday, Johan was placed third in the U25 (1.45m) class. Sunday he did even better and came second in the FINAL (1.50m). A good weekend at Valkenswaard.
