Johan crowned Senior Leading Show Jumper of the year.

Saturday Johan, who the same day ended third in the Grand Prix at Arctic Equestrian Games with his new mare Quidam’s Cherie, and second in the Grand Prix last week, was honoured by the prestigious Norwegian Equestrian Awards, AEG AWARDS, as the senior leading show jumper of the year -  a confirmation on his great effort and his results as a rider in 2016.

The young rider can look back on a fantastic 2016, where he has performed well within the top sport both on U25- and senior level. Johan also climbed the most, out of all the Norwegian show jumpers, at the official Equestrian World Rankings in 2016. At the moment he is ranked as no. 291.

Johan impressed greatly at his home ground during Norway Grand Prix last spring. He rode to victory in the four-star show in Munich - where he also achieved a strong fifth place in the 1.60 class - and he achieved some great results, at international senior, level in both Lausanne and Humlikon.

Johan also started out 2017 with jumping clear in the first round of the Longines FEI World Cup in Leipzig, delivering a fully-focused and beautiful ridden round in his World Cup debut. 

Besides from winning the award as the "Best senior showjumping rider of the year", Johan was also nominated as the "Best rider participating in age specific classes." for his great achivements in the U25 classes of 2016. In addition, Johan's previous competition horse, Charleville, was nominated as a possible candidate for winning the prestigious " Horse of the year" award. 

The awards ceremony was held on February 25, 2017,  at the Artic Equestrian Games in Tønsberg, Norway.
